Bettis Elected to Pro Football Hall of Fame; Along With Other NFL Awards

Jerome “The Bus” Bettis was elected into the Hall of Fame tonight along with Junior Seau, Tim Brown, Charles Haley, and Will Shields. The Bus was a NO BRAINER because he is the 6th leading rusher of all time. I’m honestly surprised that it took him 5 years to get voted in. He finished his career with 13,662 yards rushing and a Super Bowl ring. Bettis is now the 23rd Steeler inducted into the Hall of Fame!

J.J. Watt was a defensive phenomenon this season. Watt has 78 tackles, 20.5 sacks, 1 interception, 4 forced fumbles, and 4, yes 4, touchdowns. He was a unanimous decision for the NFL Defensive Player of the Year. I also believe that he should’ve won the NFL MVP Award because of how dominate he was this season, but Aaron Rodgers took home that award. I realize that quarterback position is the most important position on the field, but its rare that a player can reek that much havoc on the field like J.J. Watt did this season.

Rob Gronkowski won the AP Comeback Player of the Year, which was well deserved because he had 12 touchdowns this year and was, and still is, Brady’s favorite target. I believe that Gronk will be the key to the Patriots victory in the Super Bowl tomorrow.

Here is a list of the NFL Awards for 2014:

  • Aaron Rodgers won the NFL MVP award
  • Demarco Murray won the AP Offensive Player of the Year Award
  • J.J. Watt UNANIMOUSLY won the AP Defensive Player of the Year Award

  • Aaron Donald won the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year Award
  • Bruce Arians won the AP Coach of the Year Award
  • Rob Gronkowski won the AP Comeback Player of the Year Award
  • Todd Bowles won the AP Assistant Coach of the Year Award
  • Le’veon Bell won the NFL.com Fantasy Player of the Year Award
