Duke cruises past Michigan State 81-61

The Duke Blue Devils have advanced to the National Championship game once again under Coach K. This is the first time since 2010 Duke has been in the National Championship game. In 2010 Duke beat Butler for Coach K’s 4th title.

Freshman sensation Justise Winslow led Duke with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Jahlil Okafor scored 18 points and grabbed 6 rebounds for Duke. Michigan State had the leading scorer on the night in Denzel Valentine. Valentine had the only double-double scoring 22 points and corralling 11 rebounds. Travis Trice scored 16 points for Michigan State.

Duke held Michigan State to 40% shooting on the night, and Duke shot 52%. Duke was just the better team tonight. Michigan State looked to be rattled a few times in the first and second half when they couldn’t find an open shot. I think that Duke has a chance to win the National Championship game, but they will have to dominate the paint and the boards.
