Sixth grader wins ESPN’s Bracket Challenge
Sam Holtz interview on SportsCenter!
Every March people begin the daunting task of attempting to fill out a perfect bracket. The odds of filling out a perfect bracket are so astronomical, it is crazy. 12 year old Sam Holtz came extremely close to filling out a perfect bracket. Holtz won ESPN’s Bracket Challenge because he picked Duke to dispatch Wisconsin. His bracket was nearly perfect, and he said that he just picked his favorite teams to win. He also said he didn’t really watch a whole lot of basketball in the regular season, which goes to show you how much luck is involved in bracket making. He may not be able to claim the prize, even though he used his father’s account, because he is 6 years short of the minimum of 18 years old.
