Justin Verlander Placed On 15-Day DL
The Detroit Tigers have officially announced that their ace Justin Verlander has been placed on the 15-day disabled list. The Tigers have called up left-hander Kyle Lobstein to take his place in the starting rotation.
Lobstein is set to pitch Sunday in Cleveland. Verlander said that he hopes that is the only start he will have to miss.
The Detroit Tigers announced last week that Verlander would be placed on the DL, but the team didn’t officially announce it until Wednesday. Verlander is on the DL because he has a strained right triceps. This is also Verlander’s first stint on the DL.
