Alex Cobb: Potential Victim Of Tommy John Surgery

MLB: San Diego Padres at Tampa Bay Rays

Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Alex Cobb has a partial tear in his elbow ligament, according to reports.

Tampa Bay has said that Cobb is going to try to pitch through the injury, but that Tommy John surgery is a viable option. The team said that Cobb experienced a set back in his forearm injury recovery program, which has further delayed his return to the starting rotation.

Manager Kevin Cash said, “He just didn’t feel as good as he was hoping. Any time you’re dealing with a pitcher’s arm, it’s obviously concerning.

Cobb has been sidelined since March 17th with forearm tendinitis, and he is going to be shut down the next few days while doctors examine his arm.
