Troy Tulowitzki traded to the Toronto Blue Jays
The Toronto Blue Jays are currently .500, and they are 7 games back of the New York Yankees in the American League East.
The Blue Jays were pegged as buyers, but this move was a bit unexpected because Tulowitzki wasn’t pegged as being for sale by the Rockies.
The Blue Jays sent shortstop Jose Reyes and minor league prospects to the Colorado Rockies for Troy Tulowitzki. This now gives the Blue Jays’ top offense another huge bat in their lineup.
Tulowitzki is currently batting .305 with 12 home runs and 52 RBI. This is a step up from Reyes’ .285 batting average and only four home runs and 32 RBI.
Tulowitzki also is an upgrade on defense. He has won two Gold Glove awards, and is known for his amazing plays in the middle infield.
This move makes the Blue Jays a legitimate contender, but if they can get some starting pitching before the trade deadline, the Kansas City Royals better watch out because they will have some major competition.
